The mission and charge of the UCSF Committee on Disability Inclusion is to examine the issues affecting individuals with disabilities at UCSF, including:

Evaluating policies, programs and procedures
Serving as a coordinating and advisory body to increase accessibility and inclusion for this community.

GAAD Digital Accessibility Allies Panel 2021

In celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) on May 20, 2021, the committee is co-sponsoring a panel event on “Expanding DEI: Digital Accessibility Allies” to share information and strategies on how to make communications accessible and more usable to all.

Faces of Ability@UCSF Project

In partnership with ODO and University Relations, the committee worked on this web campaign to highlight challenges and achievements of UCSF faculty, health care providers, staff, and students with disabilities.

Digital Accessibility Initiative

The committee provided support for the launch of the Digital Accessibility initiative through IT Web Services and continues to advise on guidelines, resources, and policy.

UCSF Health Patient Experience

In 2018, the committee helped develop the methodology for capturing functional impairment data for patients with disabilities and loading into Apex with routine clinic questionnaires.

UCSF ReelAbilities Film Festival

In October 2016, the committee and ODO presented the UCSF ReelAbilities Film series to engage the campus community around issues of disability awareness, inclusion and unconscious bias.
