Native American Health Alliance (NAHA)

Established in 1986, the Native American Health Alliance at UCSF (NAHA) is comprised of UCSF students, staff and faculty of native descent (and their supporters) who are working together to advance representation of native Americans on campus. NAHA also promotes cultural understanding and an awareness of the health disparities affecting American Indian, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander peoples through educational programs and campus events.

An interprofessional organization of natives and allies working to advance indigenous representation on campus, build community, partner with Native American Health Center of San Francisco and Oakland, and promote awareness of health & health disparities affecting Native Americans / Alaska Natives.

Dr. Lori Alvord, author of the Scalpel and Silver Bear, visited campus in May 2023 to deliver grand rounds, she met with NAHA and ANAMS to discuss how her Native identity shaped her journey in medicine and sign book copies.
