Transgender Day of Remembrance will include a panel discussion as well as a reading of names memorializing lives we have lost as a result of transphobia.

This ambitious collaborative public education initiative, led by UCSF SEP, brings together our leading academic, scientific, corporate, and non-profit institutions to showcase the region as an international leader in innovation. Each year, the 50+ festival events attract over 50,000 active participants, many of whom traditionally do not have access to quality scientific resources.

UCSF Financial & Administrative Services - Human Resources (FAS/HR) provides free, confidential, short-term counseling and referral services to all UCSF faculty & staff, as well as organizational consultations to campus and medical center leadership.

The Asian Pacific American Medical Students Association (APAMSA) is a national organization of medical and pre-medical students committed to addressing the unique health challenges of Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) communities. APAMSA serves as a forum for student leaders to engage these health issues and develop initiatives and projects addressing those needs. The local, regional, and national activities of APAMSA aim to promote the health of the APIA community and help healthcare workers understand how to care for APIA patients in a culturally sensitive manner. Finally, APAMSA provides an important venue for medical students to meet, exchange experiences, and develop personally and professionally through leadership and service.

The Black Student Health Alliance (BSHA) is a student organization devoted to fostering community among students in the Schools of Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Physical Therapy and the Graduate Division at UCSF. In collaboration with other campus organizations, we aim to increase diversity within the student body, as well as among faculty and staff. As an extension of this mission, we offer support and guidance to students as they navigate academic institutions and prepare for careers in the health professions. BSHA provides an extended community of peers and mentors by building alliances among professionals and alumni in all health fields, and encourages the collaboration of resources and expertise. Through community events and outreach activities, BSHA contributes to the enrichment of the Black student community in particular, and to the broader UCSF community at large.

Japanese San Francisco Bay Area Seminar hosts life science/medical science seminars and provides various events for students, postdoctoral fellows, staff and faculties. We exchange scientific knowledge/information to support our research activities as well as carrier development. Since most of members come from Japan, we also support their life in the State.

An open, pluralistic, group aiming to bring together the Jewish community at UCSF, and those who are interested in Jewish heritage, traditions, and culture. All are welcome as we hope to be truly inclusive and fulfill the religious and cultural needs of all Jewish students, employees, post-docs, and researchers.

The purpose of this organization is to provide a framework for nurses and nursing students, as a group, to meet, to discuss, and influence factors which affect men as nurses. The primary mission of the group is to enable men in the nursing profession to have professional exchange, develop social networks, and to develop innovations in nursing.

The Muslim Community at UCSF is a student-run organization that aims to educate, empower and unite Muslims from a variety of backgrounds and professional schools. This is done through activities and educational programs, which emphasize the teachings and principles of the Islamic faith.

Established in 1986, the Native American Health Alliance (NAHA) is comprised of UCSF students, staff and faculty of native descent (and their supporters) who are working together to advance representation of Native Americans on campus. NAHA also promotes cultural understanding and an awareness of the health disparities affecting Native American/Alaskan Native peoples through educational programs and campus events.
