This ambitious collaborative public education initiative, led by UCSF SEP, brings together our leading academic, scientific, corporate, and non-profit institutions to showcase the region as an international leader in innovation. Each year, the 50+ festival events attract over 50,000 active participants, many of whom traditionally do not have access to quality scientific resources.

UCSF Financial & Administrative Services - Human Resources (FAS/HR) provides free, confidential, short-term counseling and referral services to all UCSF faculty & staff, as well as organizational consultations to campus and medical center leadership.

The Summer Biomedical Internship (SBI) program was established in 1988 to provide a quality biomedical research experience for students in the Central San Joaquin Valley. The program matches high school students, in the summer between their junior and senior year of high school with faculty members who have or are developing a research project. Students are chosen based on their scholastic abilities and must reside in the 6 county valley area. Students are matched with a faculty mentor on a project for approximately 6-7 during the summer. The internship also includes opportunities for field trips to local hospitals, UCSF main campus and to attend various lectures and grand rounds. The internship culminates in the "Presentation of Projects" on the first Wednesday in August.

The Women in Academic Medicine group was formed at UCSF Fresno in 2014 to create a supportive community to help foster and support women pursuing academic careers in medicine at all stages of their careers. The group meets quarterly (October, January, April and July) to provide career development and networking opportunities.

The Black Student Health Alliance (BSHA) is a student organization devoted to fostering community among students in the Schools of Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Physical Therapy and the Graduate Division at UCSF. In collaboration with other campus organizations, we aim to increase diversity within the student body, as well as among faculty and staff. As an extension of this mission, we offer support and guidance to students as they navigate academic institutions and prepare for careers in the health professions. BSHA provides an extended community of peers and mentors by building alliances among professionals and alumni in all health fields, and encourages the collaboration of resources and expertise. Through community events and outreach activities, BSHA contributes to the enrichment of the Black student community in particular, and to the broader UCSF community at large.

Japanese San Francisco Bay Area Seminar hosts life science/medical science seminars and provides various events for students, postdoctoral fellows, staff and faculties. We exchange scientific knowledge/information to support our research activities as well as carrier development. Since most of members come from Japan, we also support their life in the State.

An open, pluralistic, group aiming to bring together the Jewish community at UCSF, and those who are interested in Jewish heritage, traditions, and culture. All are welcome as we hope to be truly inclusive and fulfill the religious and cultural needs of all Jewish students, employees, post-docs, and researchers.

The Muslim Community at UCSF is a student-run organization that aims to educate, empower and unite Muslims from a variety of backgrounds and professional schools. This is done through activities and educational programs, which emphasize the teachings and principles of the Islamic faith.

Established in 1986, the Native American Health Alliance (NAHA) is comprised of UCSF students, staff and faculty of native descent (and their supporters) who are working together to advance representation of Native Americans on campus. NAHA also promotes cultural understanding and an awareness of the health disparities affecting Native American/Alaskan Native peoples through educational programs and campus events.
